Dynamic Medical Billing Solutions ("Dynamic MBS") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) that we access or process on behalf of our healthcare provider clients, in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its implementing regulations.
Our Role as a Business Associate
When engaged by a healthcare provider for medical billing, coding, credentialing, or revenue cycle management services, Dynamic MBS acts as a Business Associate under HIPAA. We enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with each client practice that defines our obligations regarding the use, disclosure, and safeguarding of PHI.
Safeguards We Maintain
- Administrative safeguards — role-based access controls, staff training on PHI handling, and documented policies for data breach response.
- Technical safeguards — encrypted transmission and storage of PHI, secure authentication, and audit logging of access to claims and patient data.
- Physical safeguards — restricted access to systems and workstations used to process PHI.
Use and Disclosure of PHI
We use PHI only as necessary to perform the billing, coding, credentialing, and revenue cycle management services requested by the client practice, and as otherwise permitted or required by our BAA and applicable law. We do not sell PHI or use it for marketing purposes.
Breach Notification
In the event of a breach involving unsecured PHI, we will notify the affected client practice without unreasonable delay, consistent with the HIPAA Breach Notification Rule and the terms of our BAA.
